Winning People Know the Secret of Goal Setting (part 1)

Intro

If you ask the majority of people before a contest, a business interview, an exam, whether it be a football match, a driving test, or a business deal "What Do You Want?", chances are they will say, "I want to pass, I want to achieve the win, I want to qualify." Wouldn't you answer that too?

I have not met anyone yet who said they do what they do in their life just for its fun. Everyone wants to win. It is natural and connected with our survival instincts and our deepest needs for security, fulfillment, and purpose. Maybe when we were 5 years old, we were just having fun, but now we have bills to pay, a mission to fulfill.

So, how can we do it?

How can we win? The answer that we are looking for can be found in goal setting.
Far too many people overlook this aspect, which may be the single most important factor connected to outcomes and results. It only requires some concentration and a little bit of time and could be the difference between a mediocre life result and a winning one.

The reason most people disregard goal setting is that they expect or assume that every aspect of their intention, and all their psychological "inner parts," let's say, want the same thing; to win
And so if one assumes that if one says he wants something, he really means it totally and concretely, with all his being, then the responsibility to win is placed squarely on him, so he only has to set the goal once, and it should happen.

Right?

Most people need to understand

... that inside them live a whole team of Individual personalities, ideas, and wishes. Every individual character of this team has different goals for themselves as a part of the team.

I stress the words "individual personalities" because every personality on "the team" is different. They have different attributes and attitudes between them, which is evident in daily life and can be seen almost constantly in everything we do.

Our mind is like a team of people who, individually, each one searches for his own purposes, having his own reasons. But the thing is that they are not separate, and they are all stuck together in one team and have to perform together. One wants to have pleasure, though, when at the same time another wants to have discipline. Another one wants to eat meat, and a fourth wants to quit eating meat and become vegan. Inside us lives a begar and a king (or Queen), a sinner and a saint.

The personalities we have are maybe counted in hundreds, and the fact is that we have to live with all of them and achieve our purpose as a team. So you literally have to see yourself as a coach or a mentor of this team and lead this team to fulfill the TEAM'S purpose as a whole!

So it is the coach's responsibility

... (your conscious will's responsibility - meaning your responsibility as the whole and not as your individual aspects and desires or fears) to bring these individuals together as one team. The easiest way to do that is by setting TEAM GOALS.

Let's be clear: winning in life is not a goal, but it is the OUTCOME of manifesting and achieving the plan (s) we set as a team, as a whole, AS AN INDIVIDUAL.
And this, my friends, takes some work!

To get the optimum results from setting goals and unifying our being or the "team", we must follow a few basic principles.

Here I will present you the so-called S.M.A.R.T. principles, which stand for S – speci}c, M – measurable, A – attainable, R – realistic, T – time.
